ATENEO DE MANILA UNIVERSITY
Nearly 140 years ago the University was located in Intramuros and began as the Ateneo de Municipal de Manila. In 1959, Ateneo became a university. Now Ateneo de Manila University has three campuses found in Loyola Heights at Quezon City, Salcedo and Rockwell in the bustling city of Makati. The motto of the university is Lux in Domino or "Light of the Lord" which captures the call of the University to its students to be light of the Lord in the world.
The school year is divided into two semesters. The first begins on June to October and the second, from November to March. Summer courses are offered from April to May.
